HS 412F — Social Policy and Management Through the Lens of Equity
This all-Heller course will set a common foundation by which Heller students will view the social policy and management curriculum of their specific program requirements through an equity lens. The purpose of this course is to provide theories, frameworks, policies, strategies, and practices that participants can use to 1) engage in deep reflection with and 2) integrate into their lives and careers. This student-led course will create space and activities through which participants can dive deeper into how they can become more invested, knowledgeable, and involved in the ongoing movement towards equity in all its forms. The course will begin with a series of cohort-building workshops that model strategies for democratic participatory inclusion and that promote meaningful discourse before delving into various theories of power and equity. Usually offered every semester.
