Across Heller and Brandeis, you’ll find student groups that fit every interest. And if you don’t? Create your own!
Join the Heller Student Association—which includes representatives from each of the six programs—or a Heller student working group, including ones focused on gender, disability, culture and the environment. You’ll have the chance to bring in experts to speak on subjects important to you; share the food and music of your culture; discover new research or internship opportunities; and more. Want to flex your entrepreneurial muscles? Heller offers an array of pitch competitions for students looking to start their own social entrepreneurship ventures, from the Heller Startup Challenge to the Hult Prize at Brandeis.
But you’re not limited to just what’s available at Heller. As part of Brandeis University, you have to opportunity to connect with fellow graduate students, regardless of discipline. Ajai Scott, MA SID/MBA’19, for example, founded the Black Graduation Student Association in 2017; Joanna Banegas, MA SID/MBA'18, co-founded Sin Fronteras, the Latinx graduate student association; and Ryan Mishler, MPP’18, served as president of the Queer Graduate Student Union during the 2017-18 school year, its first year.
Across Brandeis, you’ll also have access to a wide array of artistic venues, like the renowned Rose Art Museum; intramural athletic teams and facilities; and spiritual offerings with chaplains of various faiths.
