Fellowships and Scholarships

Many of these awards are made possible by the generous donations of friends, alumni, and organizations to support Heller students' academic success.

Scholarships with Additional Application Requirements

Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships

Applicants for the Diversity and Inclusions Scholarship must be U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents (i.e., holders of a permanent resident card/ green card).

The Heller School is pleased to award three 100% tuition Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships to incoming full-time master’s degree applicants who demonstrate commitment to the advancement of diversity and inclusion through their academic, professional, and/or personal lived experience. 

  • Application Deadline: January 15 (round 1)
  • To apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to submit a supplemental essay with their application addressing their commitment to the advancement of diversity and inclusion, and why they believe they are a strong candidate for this award.  Essay responses are limited to 500 words. When completing the application form, you will be prompted within the scholarships tab to submit the supplemental essay.
  • Decisions letters will specify any Heller awards or scholarships received. Please note: applicants who are not selected will not be notified.

Reaching Out LGBTQ MBA Fellowships

The Heller School is a proud partner of Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA), an organization that educates, inspires and connects the LGBTQ and active ally MBA community. Through this partnership, we're pleased to offer two Reaching Out LGBTQ MBA Fellowships. Recipients of a Fellowship will receive a $20,000 scholarship (divided into equal installments disbursed each semester), in addition to any Heller partial-tuition merit-based scholarship awarded. Fellows will also receive access to exclusive mentorship and leadership development.

All full-time incoming MBA applicants are eligible for the Fellowship, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Active allies who have significantly contributed to the LGBTQ community are welcome to apply. The strongest candidates will have demonstrated both strong academic performance and LGBTQ community leadership.

To be considered for the Fellowship, applicants must apply to the Social Impact MBA program by January 15 (Round 1). Applicants must also submit a supplemental essay when prompted within the "Scholarships" tab of the application addressing the following prompt: "How have you contributed to LGBTQ causes, and how do you plan to continue this work during your time at the Heller School and after graduation?" Essay responses are limited to 500 words.

Decisions letters will specify any Heller awards or scholarships received. Please note: applicants who are not selected will not be notified. 

Feldman Foundation Endowed Fellowship

The Feldman Foundation Endowed Fellowship is a scholarship, established in 1998 by Moses Feldman ’62, that supports an international MA SID student who is interested in environmental conservation and/or population planning.

To be considered for the Feldman Graduate Fellowship in Sustainable International Development, applicants must also submit a supplemental essay when prompted within the "Scholarships" tab of the application addressing the following prompt: "Beyond what has already been shared in your application, what do you believe makes you a strong candidate for this award?". Please limit your response to 250 words, and be sure to note "Feldman Graduate Fellowship" in the header of your statement.

Scholarship preference is given to those who submit their application by Round 1. Decisions letters will specify any Heller awards or scholarships received. Please note: applicants who are not selected will not be notified.

Fitzduff Family Fellowship Fund

The Fitzduff Family Fellowship Fund is a full scholarship awarded to international students who are dedicated to working on social and public policy issues of coexistence and diversity management, and are committed to returning to their home country upon graduation. This fellowship does not include university fees, airfare, or living expenses.

Affiliation-based Scholarships

Brandeis Alumni Scholarships

The Heller School is pleased to offer guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships of at least 50% to Brandeis alumni admitted to one of the following Heller Degree Programs: Master of Public Policy (MPP), Social Impact MBA, MBA/MPP Dual Degree, MA in Sustainable International Development (SID), MBA/SID Dual Degree, MA in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence (COEX), MBA/COEX Dual Degree, SID/COEX Dual Degree, MS in Global Health Policy and Management (GHPM), MBA/GHPM Dual Degree, MPP/GHPM Dual Degree and SID/GHPM Dual Degree. The application fee will be waived for all Brandeis alumni.

National Service Scholarships

The Heller School offers a number of guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships to admitted students who have a background in national service, including alumni of AmeriCorps, City Year, and Peace CorpsLearn more.

In addition, The Heller School is proud to offer two 100% tuition Peace Corps Fellows Scholarships to RPCV applying to the Social Impact MBA, Master of Public Policy, MA in Sustainable International Development, or MA in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence programs (or duals between any of the above programs).

Posse Foundation Scholarships

The Heller School is pleased to offer guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships of at least 50% to Posse alumni admitted to one of the following Heller Degree Programs: MPP Master of Public Policy, Social Impact MBA, MBA/MPP Dual Degree, MA in Sustainable International Development (SID), MBA/SID Dual Degree, MA in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence (COEX), MBA/COEX Dual Degree, SID/COEX Dual Degree, MS in Global Health Policy and Management (GHPM), MBA/GHPM Dual Degree, MPP/GHPM Dual Degree and SID/GHPM Dual Degree. The application fee will be waived for all Posse alumni.

Institute for Nonprofit Practice Alumni Scholarships

For new students beginning in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024, The Heller School is pleased to offer guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships of at least 60% to Institute for Nonprofit Practice (INP) alumni admitted to the Social Impact MBA, Master of Public Policy, or duals with one of those programs (MBA/MPP, MBA/COEX, MBA/SID, MBA/MS-GHPM, MPP/MS GHPM). The Heller School will also waive the application fee for INP alumni.

Lead for America Fellows and Alumni Scholarships

For new students beginning in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024, The Heller School is pleased to offer guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships of at least 50% to Lead for America fellows and alumni admitted admitted to one of the following Heller Degree Programs:

  • MA in Sustainable International Development (SID)
  • MA in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence (COEX)
  • MS in Global Health Policy and Management (GHPM)
  • SID/COEX Dual Degree
  • SID/GHPM Dual Degree
  • COEX/GHPM

For new students beginning in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024, The Heller School is pleased to offer guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships of at least 60% to Lead for America fellows and alumni admitted admitted to one of the following Heller Degree Programs:

  • Social Impact MBA
  • Master of Public Policy
  • Duals with one of the above programs (MBA/MPP, MBA/COEX, MBA/SID, MBA/MS-GHPM, MPP/MS GHPM)

The Heller School will also waive the application fee for LFA fellows and alumni.

Teach For India Scholarships

The Heller School is pleased to offer guaranteed partial-tuition scholarships of at least 50% to Teach For India (TFI) Fellows and alumni admitted to one of the following Heller Degree Programs: Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development, Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence, Master of Science in Global Health Policy and Management and the Social Impact MBA. The application fee will also be waived for all Teach For India Fellows and alumni.
