He is the co-founder of two businesses focused on tourism and community change in Medellín, Colombia: True Colombia Travel, which creates custom trips for a luxury market throughout the country, and Cannúa, Colombia’s first high-end and sustainable ecolodge.

Wafaa Arbash, MA SID/MA COEX'17

She is the founder and CEO of WorkAround, a startup company striving to provide sustainable income solutions for refugees and displaced people through remote work, providing data-tagging services for machine learning.

Barbara Mawn, PhD’93

Throughout her exemplary academic and leadership career, Barbara Mawn, PhD’93, has served as professor and director of the PhD in Nursing Program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, building on her professional background in pediatric nursing.
Alexandra Pineros-Shiels, PhD'07

Alexandra Piñeros Shields, PhD’07

A community organizer, activist-practitioner and scholar, Piñeros Shields is the executive director of the Essex County Community Organization (ECCO), an interfaith, interracial and interclass network of 40 faith congregations whose mission is racial and economic justice, as well as an adjunct senior lecturer at the Heller School.
