Welcome to the GSPM Program
Are you passionate about creating sustainable solutions to today’s most pressing global challenges? The Master of Arts in Global Sustainability Policy and Management (GSPM) at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management offers an innovative, interdisciplinary education built around the pillars of sustainable international development, conflict resolution, and global policy.
Students gain a comprehensive mastery of this subject matter starting with requisite courses in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and development, and electives in each of the program’s five skill areas: Applied Field Methods, Sustainable Management, Conflict Response and Peacebuilding, Environment, and Ethics and Justice.
This 9- to 12-month program is designed to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), empowering graduates with the tools and perspectives necessary to understand the complexities and opportunities inherent in conflict resolution, and to advance knowledge and interventions for sustainable peace.

Complete Your Degree in 9 to 12 Months
Our accelerated program allows you to earn your degree in as little as 9 to 12 months, minimizing time out of the field and enabling you to quickly return to or advance in your career.
- 9-month option: Ideal for students with at least three years of experience in development, peacebuilding, or policy. Complete your coursework and capstone in just two semesters—no practicum required.
- 12- and 15-month options: Designed for students who wish to gain hands-on experience through a practicum. Spend two semesters on coursework, followed by a minimum three-month practicum and a capstone paper.
Focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
With a curriculum deeply aligned with the 17 SDGs, you will learn to develop and implement policies that promote sustainable development, peace, and justice worldwide.
Hands-On Practicum Experience
Gain practical experience through a required practicum placement, where you can apply classroom learning to real-world challenges. For students with significant professional experience, the practicum requirement may be waived, allowing for an even faster path to graduation.
