The SID one-year accelerated track is a 9-12 month advanced pathway for select applicants with previous professional experience. Such experience could be from varied or diverse institutions, including but not limited to: NGOs, foundations, private institutions, government and parastatal institutions, consultancy organizations, universities, think tanks, social impact organizations, and related institutions.
Students typically complete the accelerated program in one academic year. They enter with all incoming students in late August and pursue the same first-year curriculum as all other SID students. Students in the accelerated program write a master’s paper that applies development theory and skills to solve a development problem, and they present their research at the SID Capstone event in May. Students who are interested in the accelerated track should indicate this on their admissions application.
