HS 212A — Contemporary Issues in Gender and Public Policy

Provides a deep dive into the analysis of contemporary gender-related policy issues, such as health, domestic violence, militarism and foreign policy, reproductive rights, equal employment opportunity, child and dependent care. While we will focus primarily on the US, we will also explore the implications of these issues for women globally. Special emphasis will be placed on understanding how gender narratives are framed and their implications on policy as well as on the intersection between gender, race, sexual identity,  socio-economic class, and culture. Usually offered every year.
