On Thursday, May 29, alumni and friends gathered at Brandeis University’s Hassenfeld Conference Center to celebrate 65 years of renowned expertise, leading research, and community impact at the Heller School’s 65th Anniversary Signature Event.
The evening kicked off with a keynote speech from University Professor Anita Hill in which she addressed the Trump administration’s latest executive orders. A faculty member since 1998, Hill is University Professor of Social Policy, Law, and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies and David R. Pokross Professor of Law and Social Policy.
The event also honored Interim Dean Maria Madison, whose term ends on June 30. Former Heller Dean David Weil offered remarks in praise of Interim Dean Madison as well as presenting her with a gift.
Hill’s keynote address was followed by a dinner and networking power hour hosted by the Heller Alumni Association Board. In the ever-changing landscape of higher education, the event served as an opportunity to reflect on Heller’s 65 years of accomplishments, impact, and excellence, with a keen eye towards continued innovation. Guests representing a multitude of graduating classes enjoyed an evening of community and connection, celebrating a shared commitment to Heller’s mission: to pursue groundbreaking research through our centers and institutes, effect positive social change in communities around the world, and attract the brightest students who will advance this commitment today as scholars, and tomorrow as alumni.
