David and Miriam Weil Fellowship

David and Miriam Weil
David and Miriam Weil

In 2021, friends, family, students and colleagues established a student fellowship at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management named for Professor David Weil and his wife Miriam Weil in honor of his deeply impactful five years of service as Dean of the Heller School.

As Dean, David strengthened and integrated Heller’s academic programs and student experience, reinvigorated research, elevated Heller’s public profile and ensured the school’s continual progress towards a model of equity, inclusion and diversity. He remains a leading researcher in the study of changing workplace conditions and labor markets. Miriam also shares a commitment to workers’ rights as a practicing expert in work environment policy and worker safety.

This fellowship will provide an award to a Heller School graduate student, with a preference for a student who is studying labor, economic or environmental policy.

Our goal is to raise a total of $200,000 by June 30, 2022, when David concludes his tenure as Dean. This amount will allow the fund to be endowed in perpetuity.
