Every Retreat year Segal program staff along with members of the Retreat Planning Committee create a full list of activities for Fellows' professional and personal development. Below is an example of what an agenda looked like for the 2019 Segal Fellow Retreat.

Friday, November 1, 2019

  • 2:00-3:30 pm: New Fellow Orientation (Woodside Living Room)
  • 3:30-5:00 pm: Innovation and Inspiration Share (Woodside Living Room)
  • 5:00-6:30 pm: Welcome Reception and Segal Network Panel (Woodside Living Room)
  • 6:30-7:30 pm: Dinner (Sorenson Commons)
  • 7:30-9:00 pm: Community-Building Activities (All-Fellow Introductions) and Trivia Night (Woodside Living Room)

Saturday, November 2, 2019

  • 7:00-9:00 am: Breakfast available (Sorenson Commons)
  • 7:30 am: Segal Fellow Led Fitness (check with Tia Renier about a Fellow run)
  • 9:00-11:15 am: Opening Session: Retreat Welcome and "Bringing Your Full Self to Your Citizen Leadership" Plenary Session with Dr. Maria Madison (Mystic Room)
  • 11:15-11:30 am: Mini-Break and Transit to Workshop Rooms
  • 11:30 am-12:30 pm: 1st Workshop Sessions:
    • A: Successful Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Practices to Inspire Your Team (Dr. Madison and Fellows; Mystic Room)
    • B: Bringing Your Passion Into Your Work: Finding It and Keeping It (Segal Fellows and Partners; Potomac Room)
  • 12:30-1:30 pm: Lunch (Sorenson Commons)
  • 1:30-3:00 pm: Community-building activities (Breakouts by issue/affinity groups) (Mystic Rooom)
  • 3:00-3:30 pm: Ubuntu Walk (Mystic Room, then beyond)
  • 3:30-4:00 pm: Break
  • 4:00-4:30 pm: Inaugural Segal Fellow In Action Award & Lighting Talk (Mystic Room)
  • 4:30-6:00 pm: 2nd Workshop Sessions
    • A: Making an Impact: Self-Promotion through Social Digital Media (with Jeff Lemberg; Susquehanna Room)
    • B: Navigating to Point B: Second Acts in Career Transitions (with Christina Kwan; Connecticut Room)
    • C: Boss Up: Leading with Integrity and Lifting As You Climb (Jessie Zimmerer and Fellow Panel; Potomac Room)
