Retreat Agenda

Programming was offered Friday afternoon/evening, through Sunday lunchtime, November 10-12, 2023. It included a mix of plenary sessions, breakout workshops/discussions, mingling/connection time, and celebrations, including a Saturday dinner celebrating the Segal Program's 15th Anniversary. Friday, November 10th

  • 2:30-4pm: Black and African American Affinity Space (BAAAS) Mixer 
  • 4:15-5:15pm: New Fellow Orientation (For Fellows who’ve joined in 2020-2023) 
  • 4:15-5:15pm: Problem/Opportunity of Practice Discussion (with Mora Segal)
  • 5-6:30pm: Welcome Reception 
  • 6:30-7:30pm: Dinner 
  • 7:30-9pm: Evening Team Building Activities
  • Post 9pm: Common Space Available 

Saturday, November 11th

  • 7-9am: Breakfast
  • 8:30AM: Meditation & Body Scan led by 2020 AmeriCorps Alums Segal Fellow Robyn Pratt 
  • *9:15-10:45am: Opening All-Fellow Session: Our Own Journeys as Civic & Community Leaders (Facilitated by Emerald Anderson-Ford; more details here
  • *11am-12:30pm: Workshop Block 1: “Reflecting On & Empowering Our Career Journeys” (breakouts by early/mid/later career groups; more details here
  • 12:30-1:30pm: Lunch 
  • 1:30-3pm: Finding Your Moment(um): Community Rest & Rejuvenation (Facilitated by Emerald Anderson-Ford) 
  • 3-3:30pm: Ubuntu Walk (with a partner)

  • 9-10am: Real World Action Break Out Groups/Issue-Based Relationship Building
