Valerie Green
Advisory Board Member
Valerie has more than 25 years of experience practicing law and executing advocacy strategies in the private and public sectors.
Most recently, she served as the General Counsel of GTT Communications. Before that she was the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Ligado Networks, where she led the company’s regulatory and public affairs efforts in addition to their legal department.
During the Obama Administration, Valerie served as Assistant to the President and Director of Presidential Personnel at the White House, as well as Deputy Special Counsel and Special Assistant to the President. Her work in government also includes serving as the General Counsel at the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency now known as AmeriCorps. There, she helped launch innovative programs, like Justice AmeriCorps, to expand the impact of national service while advancing policy priorities for other federal agencies and communities.
Valerie has also practiced law at Cravath, Swaine and Moore, Venable, Wiley Rein, People for the American Way and the Center for Reproductive Law and Policy. She received a B.A. from Barnard College and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Valerie joined the Segal Advisory Board in the fall of 2024.
