Paul Nolan

Paul Nolan is a proud North Carolinian. His path to leadership began at NC State University, where he was elected as the institution’s first openly LGBTQ-identifying student body president and represented the interests of more than 34,000 students. Equipped with a diverse academic background earning degrees in political science (B.S.) and materials science and engineering (B.S.), Paul joined AmeriCorps right out of college. He served as a VISTA at the Institute for Emerging Issues, piloting education and economic mobility programs for local communities. Paul later participated in the U.S. Fulbright program, where he fostered mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the United States and Norway through a teaching assistantship. In his current role as Project Manager, Strategic Thinking at AmeriCorps, Paul is continuing to invest in the national service infrastructure. In his free time, he enjoys freelance graphic design, coffee loyalty programs, and helping friends bring their ideas to life. Paul is pursuing his graduate studies in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. Paul is excited and passionate about revitalizing democracy and active citizenship.
