Priscilla Miller
2024 AmeriCorps Alum Segal Fellow
Priscilla Miller, a resident of Kentucky, embarked on her AmeriCorps journey following a life-altering accident that led to her retirement. Through her extensive involvement with AmeriCorps programs such as Operation UNITE Service Corps, KY Ready Corps, and Kentucky Public Health AmeriCorps, she has developed valuable skills in communication, collaboration, and leadership.
During her tenure as a UNITE AmeriCorps member at Hustonville Elementary School, Priscilla served as a mentor, taught “Too Good for Drugs” lessons, and led the UNITE club, effectively conveying crucial drug prevention information in an engaging and understandable manner for young students. With KY Ready Corps, she contributed to preparedness efforts and supported the local Medical Reserve Corps. Through KY Public Health AmeriCorps, she serves as a certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist and Community Health Worker.
Priscilla has transformed personal challenges into sources of strength and empathy through her service, enabling her to positively impact the lives of others. Her journey of healing and giving back has allowed her to support her community in meaningful ways. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute, Priscilla strives daily to improve herself. As the mother of two adult children and grandmother of four, she cherishes spending her spare time with her family, hiking, traveling, exploring history, and helping her community to make it a brighter place. Priscilla is enthusiastic about beginning the next chapter of her journey as a Segal Fellow.
