Stevie Lewis
2021 AmeriCorps Alums Segal Fellow
Stevie Lewis is originally from Florida and has lived in Minnesota since they were young. They earned a B.A. with honors from St. Catherine University in 2008, where their studies in Theology and History emphasized equity and service to others. St. Catherine University is also where they studied, graduating from the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program. They were also welcomed into the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of the Twin Cities' Leadership Institute cohort for 2021, where they worked alongside others in their community. Stevie has been the National Service Coordinator for Recruitment and Communications at Literacy Minnesota since 2020. They are passionate about the importance of national service as a tool for equity in our communities. Stevie has lived their values, serving Minnesotan communities for the past five years. They served one year as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader at Literacy Minnesota in 2019-20 and four terms with the Minnesota Reading Corps as both a Kindergarten-focused Literacy Tutor and Scholar Coach in Osseo and North Minneapolis. Stevie is particularly interested in meeting with and supporting national service members. They are a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and they hope to help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all individuals who want to serve. In their free time, Stevie likes to draw and design characters. Stevie is excited to learn from and alongside others as a Segal Fellow and hopes that you'll say hello the next time you see them!
