We are excited to be partnering with Emerald Anderson-Ford, Owner and Co-Founder of Communities Reaching for Equity and Diversity (CRED), in facilitating and kicking-off the Segal Program Racial Justice and Antiracism Learning Community.
Learning Community Opportunities and Materials for our 2021-2022 Kick Off Year
All Segal Fellows participating in our ongoing Racial Justice & Antiracism Learning Community are asked to watch, read, and reflect on common materials when they join the LC, whether you joined us in August 2021, or whether you're joining us in 2022.
Once you’ve registered for the learning community, please make some space and time in your first 2 weeks, based on your own schedule, to:
- Watch our Segal Program Racial Justice & Antiracism Learning Community Kick-Off Video (15 minutes), with frameworks and an opening from Emerald Anderson-Ford. (Please provide name and email here address to access video)
- Review the Kick-Off Companion/Summary Guide from our Equity Consultant Emerald Anderson-Ford of CRED
- Read the recommended kick-off readings, if you’re not already familiar with them:
- Reflect on the questions asked in the video and companion guide
- Join one of our affinity/caucus groups for Fellows to have space to connect virtually with other Fellows who share their racial/ethnic identity. (More details to come. Please contact Susie (flugsilva@brandeis.edu) if you have questions, ideas, or would like to be a group facilitator.)
- Join our general RJAR LC Slack Channel for communications/sharing across all LC members and/or request access to our shared RJAR LC folder, where you can access resources, materials from past events, and asynchronous reflection spaces, (request access from Susie, if you don't already have it)
- Encourage other Segal Fellows to join this RJAR LC.
- Join us for our Fall Antiracism Workshops (details below).
Additional all-Fellow and affinity/caucus group opportunities for learning, discussion, reflection, and action will be offered over in an ongoing manner.
