Jerry Saunders II
2009 Brandeis Undergraduate Segal Fellow
Jerry Saunders, Brandeis Class of 2011, participated in a number of activities in the fields of science, research, and medicine. Jerry was a participant in the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program at Yale University, where he learned about the field of medicine by shadowing doctors. Jerry also participated in a research and technology program in high school. He is on a full scholarship to the University of Rochester in the MD/PhD program.
While at Brandeis, Jerry served as Treasurer of the Brandeis Black Student Organization, and he dedicated his time to working with Live Campus, which encourages colleges and universities to hold benefit concerts to support African villages. He has worked as a Science Mentor, advising freshmen with pre-med interests. Jerry has also volunteered to raise awareness and funds for programs such as the American Cancer Society and the AIDS Walk.
