Tanika Lynch
2016 AmeriCorps Alums Fellow
Tanika Lynch is a 3rd grade teacher in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from Columbia University in May 2015, she interned at the U.S. House of Representatives. There, she learned about the policy making process, but also realized that her interests lie more in community-based activism. She began working in the Baltimore City Public School System in various roles, ultimately beginning a classroom teaching position in September 2017. She seeks to use culturally responsive teaching and restorative practices to empower her students to make changes in their lives and communities. She is interested in exploring career paths, including teaching, that allow her to make the greatest impact on students of color in low-income communities.
