The Lurie Institute for Disability Policy

Dr. Mitra Gives Guest Lectures on Disability Healthcare Access in India

In January, the Lurie Institute’s Director, Dr. Monika Mitra, visited India for two guest talks about disability and healthcare. First, Dr. Mitra participated on a panel at the National Conference on Accessibility in New Delhi, where she offered insights on successful disability-inclusive healthcare models in the United States and their potential application within India’s healthcare system. Then, she spoke at the National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata about addressing gaps within reproductive health and providing effective care for people with disabilities. Thank you to our fellow disability scholars and advocates in India for hosting Dr. Mitra and providing the opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise.
