Ian Moura is a Senior Research Associate at the Lurie Institute and a PhD candidate in Social Policy in the Children, Youth, and Families Concentration at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis.

Ian's work at the Lurie Institute focuses on services and outcomes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the intersection of disability and LGBTQ+ identity, and the impact of home and community-based services on disabled people's health and wellbeing. His dissertation research explores the impact of algorithmic decision-making tools on the disability community, particularly in the context of healthcare and home and community-based services. During his doctoral studies, Ian has also worked with the Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF) and the Academic Autism Spectrum Partnership in Research and Education (AASPIRE). He strives to conduct participatory research that translates to real, meaningful change and authentically reflects disabled people's needs, preferences, and right to self-determination.
