A. Alex Levine, PhD, MPH, is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Lurie Institute for Disability Policy. They are an applied health-services researcher committed to improving disability and aging policies and programs.
Dr. Levine uses quality measurement and implementation science approaches to examine health care access, outcomes, and racial equity, particularly within Medicaid and the Veterans Health Administration. They are driven to identify effective policy levers to reduce administrative burdens and promote community living. Dr. Levine completed their Master of Public Health and PhD in Health Services Research from Boston University. Before joining the Lurie Institute, they were a Phyllis Torda Health Care Quality and Equity Fellow at the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA), where they led measure development efforts to hold health plans accountable to equitable care.
After three decades in Boston, Dr. Levine now calls Philly home, where they can be found cooking with friends, dabbling in creative writing, and joining new book clubs.
