Dr. LuanJiao Aggie Hu completed her PhD in the International Education Policy program at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2021. She has taught and published research on disability inclusion, gender, and education. She is the founder of an international disability interest group called Disability Without Borders that gathers more than 700 scholars, graduate students, practitioners, and advocates from four continents with shared interests in disability inclusion in China. Dr. Hu is the lead guest editor for two special issues on Disability and China. She published her first book entitled Inclusion, exclusion, agency, and advocacy: Experiences of Chinese women with disabilities, with Worldwide Implications (Information Age Publishing, 2024) and is currently working on her second book project. She is a book series editor for the Palgrave Studies in Disability in Asia and the PacificBefore joining the Lurie Institute for Disability Policy, Dr. Hu was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Disability Health Research Center with Johns Hopkins University and worked as an inclusive education consultant with the World Bank.
