Study Information for Participants
Digital Recovery Resource Study
Informed Consent
Remember, your enrollment in this study is confidential and voluntary!
- Confidentiality – We will keep your information private and will not report anything you share with us to your recovery coach, clinicians, family, or any others. The only exception to this rule is if you share with us that you intend to hurt yourself or someone else.
- Privacy – Be aware that we can’t control how phone apps use your information, and we cannot control the information you share in apps online. If you wouldn’t want the public knowing something about you, don’t share it on a community forum or social media post.
- Voluntary participation – Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you are free to stop participating in the study at any time and for any reason. Stopping your participation will not affect your services at DRP or any other services you receive. You will still be compensated for the parts of the study you did complete.
What to Expect
Following this initial visit, you will receive a text once a week asking you if you’ve been using your app(s) and how you’ve liked them. After using the apps for 12 weeks, you will come back for a final in-person assessment at DRP to complete the study. The DRP research team will reach out to you to schedule your final visit based on your availability provided in the last text check in.

All the texts that you will receive throughout the study will come from the same phone number, 313-765-8059, and look like this:
