Ivy Sabal is a research assistant and drug checking technician at the Opioid Policy Research Collaborative. They received a BA in Environmental Justice at Hampshire College. This is where they began their harm reduction and drug checking journey, distributing fentanyl test strips and providing reagent testing for their peers. They later went on to work at Tapestry Health, Inc. as a Harm Reduction Counselor and lead Drug Checking Technician. In their spare time, Ivy is deeply involved in their local music scene as a DJ and producing electronic music events. They actively embody and embrace social justice work on drug use to end the War on Drugs. The work they do is deeply informed by their lived and living experience.
