Meelee Laura Kim, PhD’19, is a Scientist at the Institute for Behavioral Health, Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University. She has 15 years of experience conducting research and evaluation using mixed methods. Her research interests focus on policies and programs aimed to prevent and address substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, trauma, and other behavioral health issues. She applies a participatory action research approach when working with community-based organizations and other community stakeholders.
She currently serves as Principal Investigator to projects aimed to prevent substance abuse among youth and young adults as well as build capacity for community recovery. She also conducts research exploring ways in which Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs and law enforcement data sources may be used to evaluate public health initiatives intended to address drug abuse, misuse, and overdose.
