The week of September 16–22, 2025, marks the first ever Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Breastfeeding Week (DHHBF Week)!
The theme of this inaugural year is "Close the Gap, Bridge the Divide: Establish Breastfeeding Support Access."
DHHBF Week springs from the hard work of many, in particular, the DC Breastfeeding Coalition and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Breastfeeding Collective. The events of the week have been organized in an effort to ensure that accessible breastfeeding education, support, and community is provided for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) families.
Learn more and follow updates about this week on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Facebook page.
Recently, the National Center for Disability and Pregnancy Research hosted a webinar on lactation and breastfeeding with a disability. Below you can:
- Share our video post featuring Norma Morán, one of our great board members and DHH parent, as she shared her story in our latest webinar "Lactation and Breastfeeding with a Disability."
- Watch the full "Lactation and Breastfeeding with a Disability" webinar on YouTube.
- Repost our collab video by That Deaf Family, where Estefani talks about breastfeeding tips and insights.
