Scaling Children's Savings Accounts

IERE serves as the strategic thought partner to support a national foundation’s work on Children’s Savings Accounts (CSAs). IERE tracks the growth and development of CSA programs throughout the U.S. and convenes stakeholders for peer learning and field development.

Understanding the Role of Economic Instability in the Aftermath of Sexual Assault: An Evaluation of the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center Economic Case Management Program

Funded by the Office of Violence Against Women, this study is a collaborative effort among researchers at IERE, the Prevention Innovations Research Center at the University of New Hampshire, and NORC at the University of Chicago.

Evaluation of the Outreach Advocacy Initiative at the Women's Lunch Place

The outcome evaluation will allow WLP to establish key outcome variables to gauge the degree to which involvement with the OAI helps facilitate positive change in guests. Following a baseline assessment, IERE together with WLP staff will develop a logic model, finalize the practice model, identify best data tracking methods, develop and review outcomes and when necessary, and make needed changes to the practice model.

The Legacy and Impact of the Black Farmers Lawsuits

The Institute for Economic and Racial Equity at Brandeis University and the Federation of Southern Cooperatives announce a new research partnership funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Over the next two years, both organizations will work with Black farmers and their descendants across the nation to understand better the impact of Pigford v. Glickman (1999) and In re Black Farmers Discrimination Litigation (2011), a pair of class action civil rights lawsuit filed by Black farmers against the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This project will be the first nationwide effort to understand the impact of these historic cases on farmers and their families.

Racial Justice x Tech Policy (RJxTP)

The Racial Justice x Tech Policy project is driven by several research teams within the Institute of Economic and Racial Equity (IERE). We evaluate the evolving challenges of algorithmic bias, barriers to diversity in STEM careers, and contribute to redefining civil rights in an increasingly data-driven society. Our first year includes an RJxTP Awards event with our partners at the Kapor Center to fund new projects that will influence innovative policies.
