Policy Made Personal
Ever-driven by the core mission of knowledge advancing social justice, Heller's Master of Public Policy program trains students to address the most pressing issues facing our nation and the world. Directed by IERE Professor Alexandra Piñeros-Shields, herself a Heller PhD alum, the MPP program develops policy leaders who can think critically about the systems that drive inequity and helps them develop the tools they need to develop solutions in public, non-profit, and even private sectors.

IERE's MPP Concentration
Faculty and staff from the Institute for Economic and Racial Equity advise students and teach courses in the MPP Economic and Racial Equity concentration. All MPP and PhD students in the ERE concentration take a dedicated required core course, as well as more general required courses to develop the hard skills they need to pursue careers in policy, such as econometrics, economics, and research methods. Students also have the latitude to construct their class schedule within the concentration based on their interests. For instance, ERE concentrators can take courses on race, gender and stratification in the US economy or law and social justice during their two years at Heller
