Brian Stanley (he/him) is a Research Associate and Thought Partner with the Sillerman Center. He received a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, concentrating in Environmental Justice in May 2023.
In 2019 Brian graduated from Boston University with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. During undergrad he was an organizer with multiple student groups, creating and campaigning on university-wide policy changes, and conducting logistics work for the only student run, student centered space on campus. Simultaneously, Brian worked with The Transnational Resilience Research For Equity And Empowerment research team at Boston University to support the evaluation of a community health worker program in Palestine. This project led him to an interest in Public Health work post-graduation, spending 2 years working in the North Shore office of Aids Action Committee before enrolling in the MPP program at Brandeis.
In addition to his work with Sillerman Center, Brian spent the last year completing projects related to public health and racial, environmental, and housing justice. Whether working to improve LGBTQIA+ Outcomes post-disaster, drafting a guidebook on local home energy efficiency, or evaluating a Women’s Day Shelter Program, Brian’s theoretical and practical lens work to uplift community voices while centering at the margins of social problems.
