Racial Justice x Technology Policy

About RJxTP

In today’s world, technology shapes every aspect of our lives, influencing opportunities and outcomes across society. The Racial Justice x Tech Policy (RJxTP) program tackles urgent challenges like algorithmic bias and barriers to diversity in STEM. As AI adoption accelerates—now used by 39% of Americans—equitable access and representation in tech are essential to building a just future. Through research and action, RJxTP is redefining civil rights in a data-driven world, ensuring technology benefits all communities equitably.

At the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, we recognize that underserved populations often face disproportionate negative impacts from AI, Big Data, and Machine Learning. RJxTP addresses these disparities by equipping scholars, especially scholars of color, with the skills to shape an inclusive tech landscape.

Bringing together a diverse community of scholars and tech experts, RJxTP is dedicated to creating meaningful change. We lead by example, guiding our community to approach algorithms through an equity lens and tackle biases head-on. At the Heller School, RJxTP is paving the way toward a digital landscape where everyone can thrive.
