What's Next for the CMS Innovation Center?
Over the past 3 years the Innovation Center has initiated numerous programs involving thousands of providers and millions of Medicare beneficiaries. It has achieved many accomplishments but it has also encountered obstacles. This roundtable will discuss what federal officials have learned about organizing and implementing innovation programs through CMS over the past 3 years, discuss key challenges and how they might be addressed, examine the experiences of organizations participating in new CMMI initiatives and develop recommendations about how CMS can most effectively work with health care organizations and other stakeholders in the coming years to drive improvements in the health care delivery system.
We are delighted that former CMMI Chief Rick Gilfillan was able to join us for this discussion. This invitation-only meeting will primarily made up of former policy officials from the current and prior Administrations along with selected health care organizations that have worked with CMMI on various initiatives. It is intended to be a wide-ranging discussion that will examine how CMMI can best achieve its objectives over the next 3 to 5 years.
