Matthew Hoover is a senior research associate at the Center for Youth and Communities. Since joining CYC in March 2012, Matt has worked on several quantitative and qualitative projects. He is part of the research team looking at the impact of a national robotics program on STEM related course work and life skills indicators. He has worked on several evaluation projects for YouthBuild USA, a program that gives education and job training for opportunity youth across the United States. And, he has designed surveys and conducted data analysis for a summer jobs program. In addition to his quantitative expertise, he has also taken part in field interviews and other qualitative research.
Prior to joining the CYC, Matt worked for the State of Massachusetts at the Donahue Institute (part of the UMASS system) for nearly 10 years conducting numerous quantitative and qualitative research projects. His background is in quantitative methodology, statistics, and research design.
