Abigail Walters is a research associate at the Institute for Child, Youth and Family Policy and a doctoral student at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
Walters’s work focuses on immigrant families’ access to social safety net programs, job quality and childhood opportunity. In addition, Walters performs policy equity assessments on social safety net programs.
Prior to joining the Institute, Walters worked as a senior research associate at The Center for Retirement Research at Boston. Her worked focused on elder economic insecurity, older workers, and housing. Her interests are on policy issues related to low-wage work, food insecurity, racial/ethnic equity and housing. Walters holds a master’s degree in public policy and a bachelors degree in economics and political science from Simmons University.
