Doctoral Seminar

Prof. Dominic Hodgkin lecturing in class

Resident students are required to attend the weekly non-credit doctoral seminar in their concentration.

Led by concentration faculty, the doctoral seminar is devoted to presentation and discussion of research in the area of the concentration by Heller faculty, invited speakers, and advanced doctoral students.  Students are expected to discuss their progress in developing dissertation ideas, research questions, research design, and/or field research at least once each semester.  In addition, at least two joint seminars each semester cover subjects of interest and value for all in-residence students across the concentrations.

* Please note: International students must contact ISSO before engaging in any research off-campus to determine whether Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) is required. However, as such training is an alternative way of fulfilling curriculum obligations this is to ensure appropriate record keeping.
