THE EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM at the Heller School empowers executives with concepts and tools needed to impact policy and improve performance.
Our programs provide concepts and tools that will help you to measure, assess, and benchmark performance, and build commitment to operational excellence. The interactive sessions build on your existing expertise and experience, and spark new ideas and skills in a collegial environment with your peers.
Our unique advantage is that we collaborate with clients to create tailored programs to meet organizational performance goals. Our faculty lead programs on our campus and around the world.
Our newest advanced leadership program
Our newest program is a partnership with Maine's new statewide Physician Executive Leadership Institute (PELI). The Heller School-Hanley Center PELI Advanced Executive Leadership Course begins on May 1, 2014. The Advanced Course has been planned in cooperation with the Heller School faculty and will build upon the national quality leadership programming that the Heller School offers in other locations in the United States and Europe. Over the next five years, we will work with the Hanley Center to provide executive leadership training to help the transformation of Maine's healthcare delivery system at both the local and state levels. Physician leaders from across the state of Maine are invited to enroll in this one-year course designed to build on their leadership and management skills.
Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management
Our flagship program is an annual six-day Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management for high-level health care professionals sponsored by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education (TSFRE), and 14 surgical societies.
A Message from the Executive Director
The current environment demands that physician leaders develop a balance of policy and management skills in order to be effective. We invite you to build knowledge and skills that will improve the performance of your teams and organization and increase your personal and professional satisfaction and impact.
After spending time with us, you will have greater comfort and success at taking on leadership roles, leading and managing interdisciplinary teams, and advocating for the physician's perspective in your organizations and communities.
We invite you to participate in one of our programs, or to work with us to develop a program tailored specifically to your organization's performance goals.
