Dr. Sarita Bhalotra, PhD '99, Concentration Chair
The Heller School, in partnership with Hebrew SeniorLife, has created a program to prepare social policy experts with a strong interdisciplinary focus on aging policy and services. The concentration enables students to make an immediate contribution to improving the health and quality of life of elders in the United States.
Students will be prepared for policy, leadership, and management roles in organizations that serve the complex needs of the elderly. They will be equipped with policy analysis, implementation, evaluation and management concepts, tools, and applications for use in government, nonprofit, and private sector organizations focusing on the aging population.
Students will also gain firsthand exposure to the continuum of services used by seniors, including acute care, short- and long-term care, senior supportive housing and services, assisted living, adult day health, continuing care retirement communities, home health care, assistive technology, transportation, volunteer programs, and family support.
