Join our community of lifelong learning!
We are delighted to welcome you to the Master's Program in Coexistence and Conflict at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Home as it is to a global community of professionals, the Heller School operates as a close-knit family, a warm and intellectually stimulating environment where your learning and success is our first goal.
If you are a professional who wishes to deepen your skills and knowledge, and wage peace as powerfully as war is waged in the 21st century in a true global community with other students from over 40 countries, we invite you to explore our degree programs.
Either the Master's program in Coexistence and Conflict or the dual degree program in Sustainable International Development and Coexistence and Conflict may be the answer to your search for a unique theory- and practice-based program that provides you with the networks and skills to tackle local and global challenges in conflict areas. Your fellow students will be experienced professionals who actively engage with each other and the faculty to create an intellectually vibrant and enriching learning environment.
Because our curriculum is designed in conjunction with employers in the organizations where you are most likely to work, it guarantees that as a graduate your skills in conflict analysis, resolution, and mediation; policy-making; evaluation; and sustainable development in conflict situations are cutting-edge and highly valued in the workplace.
The scholarship will be awarded to an early to mid-career professional living in the Arab world whose work focuses on religious, ethnic and cultural coexistence. Please email Anne Gudaitis for more information.
Co-Chair and Founder of the Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information (IPCRI), Dr. Gershon Baskin spoke to a sold-out crowd in Heller. Dr. Baskin explored how his secret back channel negotiations between the Israeli Government and Hamas contributed to the release of the soldier Gilad Shalit and of Palestinian prisoners. He also examined how this little concrete bridge could inform positive ways of furthering peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine. See the video here.
