Staff Recruitment and Onboarding Policy

Policy #: HS 13

Issue Date: March 22, 2021

Subject: Heller Staff and Researcher Recruitment and Onboarding Policy

Purpose: To ensure equitable, inclusive and diverse recruitment of Heller staff and researchers.

The Heller School is committed to building a community of faculty, staff and researchers that is diverse, inclusive, and representative of the students and communities we serve. This commitment is not only aligned with our mission and values: The value of a diverse workforce is well-documented throughout the scientific literature

All hiring managers and hiring committees at the Heller School should recruit a diverse pool of candidates and conduct a fair, inclusive, and equitable search process, for every new hire. The process to successfully recruit for diversity can be broken down into 10 steps, including unconscious bias training, guidelines for inclusive job descriptions, and resources to assist with recruitment of applicants from underrepresented populations and protected classes as defined in Brandeis University’s Policy Against Discrimination.
