Heller 65th Anniversary

For 65 years, since 1959, Heller has conducted rigorous research on pressing social problems, providing cutting-edge practical training for graduate students and impacting real world policies.

We are lifting up our mission, “knowledge advancing social justice,” during this 65th anniversary year, continuing what we do best: driving positive social change through our graduate programs, research centers and institutes, and our commitment to public engagement. Our research institutes find sustainable solutions to social inequities in health, race, education, earnings and wealth that permeate our society.

This academic year will feature Heller events and publications that highlight our commitment closing the disparity gap, including:

  • talks from social justice leaders in government, advocacy groups, NGOs, academic and the private sector
  • alumni gatherings that bring together expertise from different fields
  • online stories and social media posts that uplift those who have inspired us

We couldn’t help but join the excitement of Brandeis’ 75th Anniversary year, so we are celebrating Heller’s 65th year, calendar year 2024, early!
