Wealth Gap Increases for White and Black College-Educated Households

This line graph shows in two trend lines the median wealth of all college educated white and black households tracked in the Panel Study of Income Dynamics from 1989 through 2013. While there is wealth fluctuation over time, especially a downward trend for white households after the 2008 Recession, overall white households gained $31,343 in wealth between 1989 and 2013 while black households lost $19,816 in wealth.
