Workers of Color are Concentrated in Low-Quality Jobs

This bar chart shows the percentage of the New Hampshire workforce and segments of the New Hampshire healthcare workforce that is made up of people of color. Seven percent of the New Hampshire workforce as a whole is people of color, and close to eight percent of the New Hampshire population is people of color. Among healthcare jobs, people of color make up less than six percent of workers in ambulatory care and hospitals. They are under-represented in these healthcare settings. People of color are over-represented in the staffs of nursing and residential care facilities, making up close to nine percent of this workforce.  This bar chart shows that people of color are under-represented in healthcare settings that offer higher wages and better job quality, and over-represented in healthcare settings that offer lower wages.
