July 30, 2020 [Sent to Heller staff and faculty]

Dear Heller Community,

As referenced in Lisa Lynch's and Stew Uretsky's email yesterday, each major unit at Brandeis will develop space use protocols specific to their buildings and community needs. At Heller, we expect a low level of in-person activity throughout the fall semester. However we will begin allowing community members to access their offices and pre-approved study spaces by request, and only if a compelling reason exists.

If you would like to request access to Heller for more than a quick in-and-out visit, you may do so by contacting Ron Etlinger (for administrative staff), Cindy Thomas (for researchers) or Ravi Lakshmikanthan (for faculty and students). You will be asked to provide a compelling reason to come on to campus. We must balance the desire to return to in-person work with the associated risks--both personal and communal--of increasing building density.

We plan to release a detailed building use policy for the Heller School in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please familiarize yourself with University-wide health and safety protocols, including those referenced in the email regarding high-frequency testingthe daily health assessment, mandatory training, mask-wearing policy and social distancing guidelines.
