MA-SID/MA in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies

The joint Master’s degree in Sustainable International Development and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies has gained international recognition for its commitment to advancing the study and implementation of sustainable development methods and gender studies. Students of the Heller School learn to create, implement and monitor programs that improve communities throughout the globe. Currently, our graduates are working throughout the world to reduce poverty and inequality, improve health care, enhance the status of women, and conserve the biodiversity of fragile environments.

Completion of the joint degree program requires two academic years in-residence. Students will obtain the tools needed for incorporating interdisciplinary gender studies knowledge and methodologies into their learning and research. The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program (WGS) provides a strong grounding in discipline-specific studies along with an interdisciplinary education in the theories, methods, and scholarship of women's and gender studies. Specific WGS requirements for the joint degree program can be found here, and a detailed overview of the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, curriculum, and community can be found here.
