Editorial Staff


Skye Allmang, MPP '09 (Children, Youth and Families) She is the founder of Inquiries in Social Policy and served as managing editor from 2008-2009. While at Heller, Skye concentrated on policies impacting immigrant families, and interned at the Mayor's Office of New Bostonians as a fellow of the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy. Skye currently works as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at the Community Action Commission of Santa Barbara County in California.

Liz Paulhus, MPP '10 (Poverty Alleviation) Her graduate work has focused on asset-building policies, public assistance programs, and fiscal policies as means of addressing poverty and economic insecurity, especially in rural communities. She completed an internship at the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy. Before coming to Heller, Liz spent a year in Germany researching the impact of immigration laws on the lives of refugees and asylum seekers. She also worked at the Von Hugel Institute at the University of Cambridge, where she co-authored a report on the government, the Church of England, and the future of welfare policies.

Brian Schon, MPP/MBA '11 (Health Policy and Health Management) His focus includes policies addressing physician shortages, as well as leadership in provider settings. As an Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Fellow, Brian worked at Health Care for All, a health advocacy organization in Boston. Before coming to Heller, Brian worked in Health IT and at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, in the Department of Planning and Urban Form.

Allison Stagg, MPP '10 (Children, Youth, and Families) She previously served as the Assistant Director of the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility at the University of Alabama, designing courses and initiatives to integrate civic engagement, service learning, and social justice into student and campus life. Allison has also completed internships with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE).

Sara Wall, MPP '10 (Poverty Alleviation) Her areas of interest include community building and policies and programs affecting disadvantaged youth. Prior to coming to the Heller School, Sara worked in both direct service and program management positions with Project Access, providing social services to residents of low-income housing throughout the state of California. As a Sillerman Fellow, she worked in the programs department of the California Community Foundation and Social Venture Partners Boston.

Submissions Editors


Amanda Milstein, MPP '10 (Poverty Alleviation) Her areas of interest include reproductive justice, wage equality, and other issues related to women and poverty. Amanda has interned at the Institute for Women's Policy Research, examining issues related to post-secondary education for parents, and at the National Council of Jewish Women. Before attending the Heller School, she worked for the Jewish Outreach Institute and was an AmeriCorps volunteer at the New York City Coalition Against Hunger.

Kate Tull, MPP '09 (Health Policy) She is currently the Associate Director of the Massachusetts Health Policy Forum, where she formerly worked as a research associate as an Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Fellow. Her work focuses on contemporary health policy topics facing the Commonwealth such as health reform, payment reform, and anti-obesity initiatives. Before attending Heller, Kate worked in organizational development and planning for the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology at the University of California, San Diego.

Janet Boguslaw, PhD She is the Associate Director of the MPP Program, as well as the Associate Director of the Institute on Assets and Social Policy. Janet is an experienced practitioner, evaluator, and researcher in the areas of workforce and economic development. Her research focuses on creating multi-sector innovations and partnerships to advance the economic opportunity and security of low- and middle-income populations.
