"Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention (NEPQR) Program – Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) for Advanced Heart Failure (AHF)”
Funder: U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration; subcontract to Brandeis from University of Washington
The goal of this project is to integrate relational coordination concepts, skills and metrics into TeamSTEPPS training, along with lean concepts, in order to better serve the needs of complex heart failure patients, in particular those who belong to rural and underserved populations. There will be a Relational Coordination Intervention Training Workshop for co-investigators from the University of Washington and Virginia Mason Hospital who are master trainers in TeamSTEPPS. This course will be customized to help them build the skill set they need to effectively conduct and integrate interventions including Relational Coordination and others. A Leadership Workshop will be provided in each year of the project at the Advanced Heart Failure Clinic, targeted toward emerging nurses.
