Sustainable International Development Program

Benjamin GidronThe Sustainable International Development (SID) Program presented "Social Enterprises: The For-Profit Challenge from a Welfare Perspective," a lecture by Benjamin Gidron, in February. Gidron is Professor Emeritus at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, where he was the founding director of the Israeli Center for Third sector Research (ICTR), and founding president of the International Society for Third sector Research (ISTR).

Sir Fazle Hasan AbedIn April the SID Program hosted a talk by Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder and Chairperson of BRAC, the world's largest nonprofit organization. BRAC has over 100,000 employees serving millions in 10 Asian and African countries. Sir Abed discussed “Meeting the Challenges of Sustainable Development in Bangladesh and Beyond.”
