Marji Erickson Warfield

Profile

Dr. Erickson Warfield’s research has focused on investigating the development of children with disabilities and the adaptation of their families over time and examining the impact of parenting a child with a disability on balancing work and family roles. She has also directed projects evaluating early intervention and other educational, health, and support programs and services for children and youth with disabilities and special health care needs and for young children at risk of delay due to a variety of environmental factors.

She is the co-principal investigator of the Early Intervention Collaborative Study (EICS) which is the largest and longest running study of children with early special needs and their families in the United States. Dr. Erickson Warfield is an author of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) monograph, which summarized the findings from the first ten years of the EICS study, and has written numerous journal articles on the developmental patterns of children with disabilities and the adaptation of their parents as well as book chapters on program evaluation.
