Profile

Eve Wittenberg is a Senior Scientist in the Institute for Behavioral Health at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management. Her interests include the conceptualization and measurement of well-being and values across individuals and health conditions, and the application of this information to decision making and choices that affect health. She has a special focus on issues that fall within an individual's control such as obesity, alcohol and substance abuse, and treatment choices, and health issues for vulnerable populations, such as victims of violence and homeless persons. Her methods focus on survey research, particularly the development of instruments and approaches to elicit cognitively complex concepts, such as well-being or preferences. She was previously an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, conducting research at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Harvard School of Public Health.
