Profile

Dr. Hodgkin is an economist whose research focuses on the effects of different organizing and financing approaches in health care, particularly addressing mental health and substance abuse treatment. His recent research has included studies of the structure and effects of three-tier drug formularies, in relation to antidepressants and other psychotropic medications; and how a Medicaid carve-out program affected substance use treatment. He teaches two classes in the Ph.D. program: Economics of Behavioral Health, and Advanced Econometrics, as well as one undergraduate class: Health Economics.
