Heller MBA Fellowships and Scholarships

AmeriCorps Scholarship

The Heller School will match the AmeriCorps Educational award for any AmeriCorps Alum enrolled in a full-time degree program. The Heller School may also offer other significant tuition remission/scholarship awards to AmeriCorps Alums. The application fee will be waived for all AmeriCorps alumni.

The Altman Endowed Health Policy and Management Scholarship

Partial Scholarship

This scholarship was created to honor Dr. Stuart Altman, the Sol C. Chaikin Professor of National Health Policy. It is awarded to a master’s student in the aging or health concentration, and honors the life and work of Stuart Altman by supporting students whose career goals include making a difference in the field of health policy, health care management or aging policy management.  The ideal candidate will be an MBA or MPP student.

Ellen (Ellie) Hassenfeld Block

Partial Scholarship

The Ellen Block award is given to one U.S. student from rural, economically disadvantaged areas such as the Mississippi Delta area or Appalachia, and plan on returning to that area to work in community based organizations focused on anti-poverty work.  The ideal candidate will be an MA or MBA student concentrating in children, youth, & family or sustainable development.

Brandeis Graduate Award

Alumni of Brandeis University receive an automatic $4,000 Brandeis Graduate Award upon acceptance to the Heller School.

Brandeis National Committee (North Shore Illinois) Endowed Scholarship for Social Justice

Partial Scholarship

The BNC scholarship is awarded to a Brandeis graduate whose concerns for social justice are paramount in their studies and previous work experience.  The ideal candidate will be an MBA or MPP student concentrating in children, youth, & family, health care, aging or sustainable development

Jack Teigh and Abby Blume Brown PhD ’72 Scholarship Endowment

Partial Scholarship

Abby Blume Brown PhD ’72 created this fellowship in 1999 to support female students of color.  The intent of the scholarship is to support individuals who are planning management or service careers in community-based, human services organizations.  The ideal candidate will be an MBA or MPP student concentrating in children, youth & family, health care, aging, or sustainable development.

Grant Burton Scholarship

The Grant Burton Scholarship was created in 2005 and is awarded to a student interested in disability policy.  The ideal candidate will be an MA, MBA, MPP, or MS student concentrating in aging or healthcare.

City Year Scholarship

The Heller School will match the AmeriCorps Educational Award for all admitted candidates. The Heller School also offers other significant tuition remission/scholarship awards through the Heller/City Year Give a Year National Service program. The application fee will be waived for all City Year alumni.

The Edward Dreyer Endowed Scholarship

The Edward Dreyer Endowed Scholarship was created in 2003 and it is offered to a MBA student who is devoting their career to nonprofit management.

Frieze Scholarship

The Frieze scholarship provides tuition assistance to a domestic minority student. The ideal candidate will be an MA, MBA, MPP, or MS student from inner city neighborhoods.

Philip and Lenora Goltz Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Philip and Lenora Goltz Memorial Endowed Scholarship was created in 2003 by generous donor Adam Sheer and Alyssa Zeller and their family in honor of Adam’s grandparents.  The ideal candidate will be an MBA student.

Heller Social Justice Award

This award was created in order to follow the mission of the Heller School. The scholarship amount is determined by an applicant’s commitment to social justice, based on their work experience, statement of purpose, and career goals.  The ideal candidate will be an MBA student.

Mary Jagoda Endowed Fellowship

Partial Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of Mary Jagoda, who died while an undergraduate at Brandeis. Women who attended Brandeis as undergraduates are encouraged to apply.

Kerzner Scholarship

Partial Scholarship

This scholarship is geared towards students with a focus on Jewish community or disability issues. The ideal candidate will be an MBA, MPP, or PhD student.

NGF Endowed Fund

Partial Scholarship

The NGF is for any Heller student focused on social justice. An interest in the Jewish community is preferred but not required.

Peace Corps Scholarship

All Peace Corps volunteers will receive an automatic $5,000 scholarship if enrolled in a full-time degree program. The application fee will be waived for all Peace Corps volunteers.

Public Policy and International Affairs Alumnae Scholarship

Alumnae of the Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship will receive a $5000 scholarship. The concentration and focus of research is open.

Charles and Fran Rodgers Endowed Scholarship

Partial Scholarship

For any Heller student enrolled in a full-time degree program. International candidates are encouraged to apply.

Nancy and Edward Stavis Endowed Scholarship

Partial Scholarship

For MBA students; a concentration in health policy preferred, but not required. Brandeis undergraduates are encouraged to apply.
