THE EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM at the Heller School collaborates with clients to develop programs to meet their organizations' professional education needs.

Our foundational program is an annual six-day Leadership Program in Health for high-level health care professionals sponsored by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education (TSFRE).

Our Faculty:
Jon Chilingerian, PhD, a tenured professor at Brandeis University, is Executive Director. He obtained his PhD from MIT's Sloan School of Management and has held a variety of management positions in the public and private sectors. Since 1997, Dr. Chilingerian has taught executives at The Heller School and at INSEAD, a leadership institute based in France. In 1995, Dr. Chilingerian launched the 4-year MD/MBA Program in Health Management with Tufts Medical School and Northeastern University, which is the largest MD/MBA program in the US today.
A key faculty member is Stuart Altman, PhD, former Dean of The Heller School and Sol C. Chaikin Professor of National Health Policy at Brandeis University. He has a PhD in Economics from UCLA and taught at Brown University and the Graduate School of Public Policy at University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Altman is an economist whose primary research interests are federal and state health policy. Modern Healthcare consistently names him among the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare. He has advised four presidents on health policy and is currently advising President Obama and his team.

Jeffrey Prottas, PhD, a Professor at Brandeis University, has specialized in research on organizational behavior and change. Dr. Prottas has taught courses on negotiation and mediation at Harvard University and Brandeis University.
Jody Hoffer Gittell, PhD, is a Brandeis University Professor and director of the Heller MBA Program. Dr. Gittell's research explores how coordination contributes to quality and efficiency outcomes in service settings. She received her PhD in 1995 from MIT Sloan School of Management, and served 5 years on the faculty of the Harvard Business School.
